The National Backyard Wrestling Alliance (NBWA) was a governing body for a group of independent backyard wrestling promotions and sanctioned various NBWA championships in the United States. The NBWA was in operation from June 8, 2010 to September 21, 2011 and it acted as the governing body for many backyard wrestling promotions, operating as a talent and brand name franchiser.

Origin[]
On June 8 2010, William Parker had the idea to start a Backyard wrestling community and he made a forum site on forumotion.com.
Feud with GBYWN & NBYWA[]
As soon as NBWA was founded, the owner William Parker and site member Steven Hardy tried to get rid of all references to Skull Jr.'s National Backyard Wrestling Alliance (or NBYWA) from BYWpedia, due to the communities having the same name. The effort failed, and the two communities had a troubled relationship for the rest of NBWA's lifespan, though at one point William Parker did ask Skull if he wanted to merge the communities. The request was denied.
In late October 2010. Many of the GBYWN members flicked to the NBWA forums creating random membership just to spam the forum and to talk down to the members of NBWA.
Closing[]
After a very long stagnant period, on September 21, 2011, William Parker handed over the site to the creative board of the Midwest Wrestling Alliance, to make it their own site.

All the promotions of the NBWA all recognized the NBWA World Heavyweight Championship as their highest ranked title.
